Memorial Weekend...Part II

So, on Friday the kids wanted to go swimming, and that's exactly what we did!  The weather was amazing, so we headed over to Grammie and Grandpa's house for a dip in the pool.  Sydney showed off some of her skills that she has been learning at swim class, and little Lizzy was fearless, which was kind of scary for me.  Of course, I would always keep an eye on her around a pool...but I REALLY had to keep an eye on her.  She had no problem just jumping in and I just had to be prepared to catch her.  After that we all went to Olga's ( I just love that restaurant...but as Jason says, every restaurant is my favorite).  They were a little slow that night, so Lizzy started chanting "I want food, I want food, I want food."  It was actually kind of cute!

On Saturday, it was another great day!  The weather was perfect, so we literally spent the entire day outside.  I set up a kiddie pool, and water table, and later on Jason blew up the giant waterslide.  It was all about fun in the sun!  Grandma Sharon joined in the fun too!  Later that night, we had a last minute get together with great friends.  Lily, Jake, and baby Nathan (one day he won't be called "baby") played in the water and then we ordered pizza and salad.  I love last minute, unexpected plans.  It only added to the great day and weather.

On Sunday (I feel like this is the Hungry Caterpillar book...naming the days of the week...) Jason and Nate BEGAN to put the swingset together.  It is not easy!  I played with the kids outside while they worked in the hot sun.  We had to go to Julie's baby shower/housewarming/BBQ that afternoon, so Nate was left to work alone.  The food was awesome at Julie's (as usual), and it was a nice night visiting with everyone and watching the kids play.  The swingset however...is not done!

Nate came back on Monday to work on the swingset again.  They made a little progress...but then it started to pour!  I told them to just wait it out a little and get back to work.  But these two guys looked at the forecast, which said 80% chance of rain...they were a little pessimisic.  Me, being the optimist, was focusing on that 20% of  no rain and thought they should wait a few and get back to work.  But boys will be boys, and they quit.  It didn't rain again until like 5 hours right.  The whole point is...I was right and they were wrong!  I guess Nate will be back for day 3 tomorrow.  However, we all have to work, so I'm not sure how much will get done.

Speaking of work...for as much fun as I had this weekend, now is the moment I dread and totally was NOT looking forward to!  I don't want to go back to work tomorrow...boo!I was enjoying my time at home. Bug again, I know this is not reality...too bad I can't work like every other season! I just love being outside in this nice weather and spending time with the kids. On some days, I don't even see them until dinner and then it's time for bed. But oh well, back to work I go tomorrow. I guess that I wouldn't appreciate these days as much if I didn't work...I'll go with that theory to get me through tomorrow!
