A Sore Weekend

So, Jason and his old buddies that he grew up with in Midland decided to have a JKI (Joe Klesney Invitational) basketball tournament reunion.  Yeah, they have fun playing, but I think deep down, they really just want to go out, party, and drink after! They used to have these tournaments yearly, but as they got older and people got married, had kids, etc., the tournaments kind of tapered off.  But every once in a while they decide to reunite.  I think this is the first time where they all kind of realized that they might be getting a little too old for this.   They did have some REALLY cute cheerleaders though!  They were yelling "go Daddy go, go Daddy, go."  And every time Jason came off of the court, Sydney brought him his water!

Despite the not so fast pace that the boys were moving on the court, things seemed to going well (besides the fact that Jason's team lost 21 to 6).  That is until I heard a loud scream.  I jumped up and guess who was laying on the ground...I'm sure you've guessed right...Jason!  Then, I saw blood on his head which kind of freaked me out!  Even though he had blood coming from his head, he refused to go to Urgent Care...you know guys...they have to be all tough in front of their friends, so of course he said he was fine!  I know he wasn't though!  But whatever, he's fine now...he has a nice cut on his forehead and his entire body hurts, but apparently he had fun!  I wonder if they will be doing another one of these tournaments any time soon!  Maybe they should take up a new hobby, like euchre or something!

The next day we had to be home for Sydney and Lizzy's friend Lily's birthday party at Bounce U.  The kids had a ton of fun, but man it was a workout for the parents!  Jason was kind of out of commission to be jumping and climbing, so I was the parent of choice.  Unfortunately, almost every boune house involved climbing up really steep stairs which Lizzy was too small to do.  So, I climbed up these darn bounce house stairs way too many times to count!  It was like climbing a stairmaster holding weights.  I had to hold Lizzy in one hand, and hold the ropes on the side to avoid slipping.  I only wiped out once and took out three kids on the way down...it wasn't easy...I have burns on my elbow to prove it!  But so much for the workout...I was so starving by the end of all of it, that I ate 3 big pieces of pizza, salad, and cake!  I could have eaten more, but you know how it goes when you're at an event...everyone always takes one or two pieces.  I swear, in college...I would eat an entire pizza in one sitting!  I'm glad the kids had fun though!  I for one, am hurting big time today!  I must be out of shape and getting old like Jason (ha!).
